Background
- Design and implement Avamar and Data Domain solutions to meet customer needs
- Configure and manage Avamar replication, Cloud Tier, and Data Domain systems
- Describe and configure Avamar features and capabilities, including data protection, disaster recovery, and data management
- Perform Avamar server maintenance activities, including disk replacement and node upgrades
- Identify and configure Data Domain features and architecture, including data replication, recovery, and security
- Collaborate with customers to understand their data protection and disaster recovery needs and develop customized solutions
- Perform system monitoring, maintenance, capacity management, and troubleshooting for Avamar and Data Domain systems
- Works with customer server team, network team, application teams, and security team (example request via ServiceNow – for Avamar VM build, Firewall, plug plan (Ports), VLAN, cabling, backup requirements such as scheduling/retention, etc.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in designing and implementing data protection and disaster recovery solutions
- In-depth knowledge of Avamar and Data Domain features and capabilities
- Experience with Avamar replication, Cloud Tier, and Data Domain systems
- Strong understanding of data protection and disaster recovery concepts and strategies
- Strong technical skills, including knowledge of networking, storage, and data protection technologies
- Experience with system monitoring, maintenance, capacity management, and troubleshooting
